Fifty-eight local youth wowed judges on Saturday, Feb. 21, with their tremendous display of spirit and explosive high-energy performances.

Showcasing incredibly high toe touches, show stopping choreography and powerful tumbling technique, five teams from Victorious Elite Allstars (VEA) competed at the Jamfest National Championships in Fresno taking home three first place and two overall championship titles: Most Spirited and Mos Entertaining.

“The kids put heart and soul into perfecting their routines. They deserve these national recognitions,” stated Amy Acaya, Executive Director and Co-founder of VEA. “Countless hours of after-school practice proved to pay off for our VEA athletes, they continue to demonstrate the relation between discipline and achievement.”

VEA is a Manteca nonprofit Cheer and Dance organization that serves local youth ages 2 to18.

Although the gym only operates during after-school hours with minimal staff, the tremendous amount of support from parents and volunteers ensure that an enriched experience is provided for the young athletes. As Laura Long, VEA board member noted, “VEA is not just about athletic performance; these kids are learning respect, leadership, and positive behaviors that will be used throughout every aspect of their lives.”
Most athletes have no prior cheer or tumbling experience before becoming a part of VEA. But with the highly trained, professional team of cheer, tumbling and dance instructors, these athletes quickly learn how to challenge their fears and work towards their potential. VEA has a practice facility with over 7,000 square feet, three spring floors, training equipment and a tumble track. The public is welcome to observe practice time and the high-energy positive environment cultivated by staff and volunteers. New registrations are always welcome and tryouts for next season will be held in April. For more information, visit VEA’s website www.pinkblacksilver.com or call (209) 825-0700.
