STOCKTON — Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient and San Joaquin County resident, MSgt Richard A. Pittman, USMC (ret.), announced his support of Leroy Ornellas for the newly created 5th Senate District.

“I proudly stand up for Leroy Ornellas because he has consistently stood up for our veterans,” said Pittman.

Orenalls currently represents Tracy, Ripon and part of Manteca on the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors. He’s a third-generation dairy farmer.

“Whether it’s securing funding for San Joaquin County’s Homeless Veterans Stand Down or his tireless efforts to get the new VA regional medical facility and nursing home located at French Camp, Leroy has been a zealous advocate for our veterans,” Pittman stated.

“… As a tireless advocate for veterans, I know he will work just as hard to rein in the out-of-control spending and work to stop the endless borrowing – something our state desperately needs right now,” Pittman added.

MSgt Pittman leads a growing list of veterans who have endorsed Ornellas including John Serpa, Ray Bael, Tino Adame, Rick Van Unen, Robert Brasiel, Pastor Mike Dillman, Vaughn Gates, Wayne Lowery, Darrell Griffin, Dave Norris, Steve Spatola and Bill Naron, among others.
