Veritas PTA plans holiday boutique

The Veritas School PTA is planning a holiday boutique on Friday, Dec. 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Veritas multipurpose room.

The boutique which features a variety of vendors is at the school located on Pagola Avenue between Woodward Avenue and Atherton Drive across from The Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley is open to the public. There will be a cake walk to support the school’s gifted student program and raffle to help support the PTA. Vendor space still available. Holiday story time at library Dec. 16

The Manteca Branch Library will present a Holiday Book Bonanza on Wednesday, Dec.  16, at 4 p.m. The library’s story time lady  will read stories plus there will be games and crafts for everyone to enjoy.  Come have a wonderful time for families with children of all ages to celebrate literacy.

Brock Elliott Pancake Slam

The fourth annual Pancake Slam takes place at Brock Elliott School on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 7 to 11 a.m.

The price is $4 for adults, $2 for children and those under 5 are free. Santa will be there so bring a camera.

Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, coffee, milk, juice, and hot chocolate. Spreckels Park Little League signups will also take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Costa’s Wild Game Feed set for Friday

Costa’s Wild Game Feed takes place Friday at Manteca Trailer & RV, 2060 E. Yosemite Ave., when 800 to 1,200 people will partake in the traditional community spread.

Those getting a chance to lunch on salmon, halibut, trout, rock cod, calamari, pheasant, duck, quail, dove, deer, elk, wild boar, and other assorted game as well as homemade dishes are asked to make donations.

One hundred percent of the donations will go to helping struggling families in the Manteca community with clothing, food, and furniture.

The meal will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. and run until about 7

SONdance staging two performances

SONdance is once again preparing for its annual presentation of “A Christmas to Remember.”

The joyful celebration of timeless traditions, Christmas Carols and music of the season beautifully portrayed through the art of dance takes place at the Place of Refuge, 486 Button Ave., on Friday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 12, at 1 p.m.

This year SONdance will be partnering with Manna Ministries to collect food for needy families throughout the Manteca area. Each guest is asked to bring dry or can food items to the performances which will then be picked up and distributed by Manna Ministries.

Tickets are $7 in advance or $8 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at SONdance, 612 Commerce Court. Manteca, or visit their Website at WWW.SONdance.org and click on performances.

Lathrop parade this Saturday

The City of Lathrop’s Festival of Lights Holiday Parade with the theme of “Lighting the Way with Hope” takes place on Saturday, Dec. 12.

The parade will start at 5 p.m. at J and Fifth streets, traveling south on Fifth to Mingo Lane.
