Garden Club meets Jan. 18
The Manteca Garden Club welcomes garden enthusiasts in the Central Valley to attend their next meeting on Monday, Jan, 18 at 12:30 p.m. at the McFall Room of the Manteca Public Library to hear Diana Montgomery,  speak on “Four Seasons of Color” for your garden.

Diana has worked as a nurserywoman for many years and is very knowledgeable in many areas of gardening.  

The social time begins at 12:30 and the meeting starts at 1 p.m.

The McFall Room is located on the north side of the Manteca Public Library and can be accessed directly from Center Street.  They welcome newcomers of all ages who are interested in gardening.  There is no charge, however they encourage membership to gain the benefit of all of the programs and events.

Humane Society volunteer orientation
The Delta Humane Society’s no-kill animal shelter is holding a volunteer orientation on Saturday, Jan. 30, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Shelter on 4590 N. Highway 99 in Stockton.

Volunteers are needed in all areas from hands-on with the animals to fund raising. Sign-up now and find out how you can get involved, call 466-0331.

Flower pick-up at EU Cemetery
East Union Cemetery volunteers will be picking up flowers, holiday decorations and other items left this season at the cemetery on Sunday, Jan. 10.

Anyone wishing to retrieve their Christmas trees, wreaths, statues or other items left on graves should do so prior to that date. Anything left on graves will be discarded.

St. Anthony’s School crab feed
The St. Anthony School Parent Teacher Group is hosting the first St. Anthony School Crab Feed on Saturday, Jan. 30, from 5:30 p.m. to midnight at the St. Anthony School Gym.  

Tickets are $40. It includes crab, homemade pesto, marinade pasta, salad, bread, dessert, wine with dinner and a no host bar.  There will be a live and silent auction, 50/50 raffle and music and dancing.  Contact the school office at 209-823-4513 for more information or to purchase tickets.

Boys & Girls crab feed Jan. 16
The Manteca/Lathrop Boys & Girls Club Crab Feed takes place Saturday, Jan. 16, at the MRPS Hall, 133 N. Grant St.

The meal consists of crab, baked potato, bread, salad, bread, and wine. Tickets are $40 apiece.

No-host cocktails are from 6 to 7 p.m. while dinner is at 7 p.m. followed by dancing from 9 p.m. to midnight.
