Parking lot work nearly done

The reopening of the Stockton Avenue parking lot is about two weeks away.
That was estimated timetable provided by Engineering Supervisor James Pease at last Tuesday’s Ripon City Council meeting.
The parking lot and alley behind Pizza Plus at downtown Main Street near South Stockton Avenue has been closed since Aug. 14.
A.M. Stephens Construction has been in charge of the City of Ripon project – work was expected to take eight to 10 weeks – replacing the asphalt and concrete pavers.
A temporary parking lot the corner of Stockton Avenue and Second Street has been made available for business owners and employees.
Due to the limited amount of parking spaces during the closure, a two-hour parking limit has been enforced throughout the downtown areas where signs are posted, with vehicles exceeding the time limited being ticketed.
