Ricardo Granados has seen the positive impact the Manteca-Lathrop Boys & Girls Club has had on youth over the years firsthand.
He’s a former member who also performed during the annual telethon as part of the East Union High choir.
Now that Granados is pursuing a film/video production career through Backyard Studio Films he wants to do what he can so the club can raise $125,000 during the 32nd annual telethon tonight and Tuesday.
Granados is offering a live auction item that offers a two hour professional video recording of a sporting event or any other activity using two cameras that will then be edited into an n hour-long DVD.
“We originally got the idea for (offering video services) to shoot students playing sports or who are in theater groups who may need them when applying for scholarships,” Granados said.
There is also a demand from those who simply would like to have a professionally done video of their son or daughter performing or playing sports.
More information is available by calling Granados at 612-9142.
The video package is one of 47 live bid items that are part of the telethon tonight from 5 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 5 to 10 p.m. live streamed at www.bg.manteca.org or on Comcast Cable Channel 97. You can also drop by the club at 545 W. Alameda St.
The telethon also includes more than 250 volunteers collecting pledges as well as entertainment and a silent auction.
