One of the advantages of living in Manteca, Ripon, and Lathrop is access to fresh produce,The three communities are part of the fertile San Joaquin Valley that’s considered the most bountiful agricultural region on earth.And even as farmers markets in Ripon and Manteca are preparing to wind down by month’s end, there are still farmers markets that will continue with one market in Stockton going year round. And if you don’t like the idea of waiting for a specific day, the 10-mile stretch along East Highway 120 between Manteca and Escalon offers no less than five produce stands highlighting locally grown crops. Among the area’s farmers’ markets are:TUESDAYMANTECA: The Manteca farmers market is from 4:30 to 8 p.m. through the end of August at Library Park in downtown Manteca.
