Ripon expected to appoint Nielsen to replace Graham on senior board

The Ripon City Council is expected to appoint Katie Nielsen to the Senior Commission at tonight’s 7 p.m. open session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

She’s tabbed to fill the vacancy of the commission’s alternate voting member previously held by Bonnie Graham.

Graham recently announced her resignation and will also be honored at the meeting with a proclamation in her honor by Mayor Dean Uecker.

She is scheduled to be recognized for “(giving) generously of her time and effort on behalf of the senior members of our community,” according to proclamation.

Other agenda items include:

•Mary Nicholson of Healing in Motion, accepting a proclamation on behalf of November being National Caregiver Appreciation Month.

•Bertolotti Disposal requesting approval on a permit to collect commercial and industrial waste.

•Staff seeking directions pertaining to rezoning of certain properties within or directly adjacent to city limits in order to achieve certification of Ripon’s housing element.
