RIPON – Elected leaders will look at plans and the cost of renovating the old museum building at Mavis Stouffer Park.At Tuesday’s Ripon City Council meeting, they’re scheduled to discuss cost for dry rot repairs, building modifications, and sidewalks.Once done, the building could be rented out as another meeting place or for specials gatherings such as small weddings, birthdays or anniversaries.Council members, who initially talked about this plan about a month ago, will look at renovating the building in three phases, with the total estimate at $26,000.In addition, they’ll discuss the request from the Save Mart shopping center owners to extend the term of the Colony Commercial Development Agreement.Extending this agreement could amount to $525,000 in losses to the city. However, the owner, according to the staff report, could prepay the development fees prior to the expiration of the development agreement that’s locked in the savings. In other agenda items:• Council will look at accepting the completed work of the Jack Tone parking lot by Ross F. Carroll Inc.• Public hearings are scheduled for both the community development block grant and the home programs for 2012-13 and the abandonment of a dedicated alley adjacent to 1705 N. Ripon Road and 1706 Coralstone Lane.• Council can sign off on resolutions ordering City Engineer Kevin Werner to prepare the annual reports for Jacobs Landing; Carolina’s Landscape Maintenance District; Cornerstone 1 Landscape Maintenance District; Country Woods (Unit 2) and Zumstein Estates subdivisions; Dutch Meadows; and Farmland Estates. For more information, call (209) 599-2108 or log on to www.cityofripon.org.
