Plans for a Ripon dog park continue to move forward as another elected leader is being considered to help with the process.
On Tuesday, the Ripon City Council will look to recommend appointing Mike Restuccia to the Dog Park Committee.
If all goes accordingly, he’ll join colleague Mark Winchell, who was appointed at last month’s meeting, as council representatives.
They’ll look to work with Friends of the Dog Park, a non-profit group that was recently established, in efforts to develop a dog park in the designated area right behind the animal shelter.
This appointment is scheduled to take place during the 6 p.m. open session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
As council representatives, Winchell and Restuccia will be asked to report on any updates involving the dog park folks.
This is the group that includes Shelly Moulyn and Jaime Fountain. They’ve met regularly for the better part of the past year.
Moulyn and Fountain indicated that plans consist of the dog park having the curb appeal to compliment the town’s aesthetics.
In addition, they’ve brought in an engineer to provide estimates on costs along with site plans, fencing and equipment, to name a few.
Other agenda items include:
uCouncil will look at the health and welfare plans for city staff and employees for the 2016 calendar year – Kaiser, Blue Shield, Assurant Dental, American Specialty Health Chiropractic and MES Vision will be discussed as part of those plans.
uStaff will also report on the City’s Water Conservation Program and talk about additional conservation regulations and communications to help meet the state mandate of 36 percent reduction.
