Senior center Breakfast with Santa

The Manteca Senior Center, 275 Cherry Lane, will host the annual Breakfast with Santa youth event on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 9 a.m.

 Tickets are on sale now at the Senior Center for just $6  per person. All tickets include a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice and milk. Children’s tickets also include a photo with Santa, candy and a toy from Santa, and an art/craft project.

Only 125 children’s tickets will be sold, so don’t delay as the popular event always sells out. Recreation Supervisor Brandy Kendricks indicated there were still a few tickets left as of Friday afternoon.

Tree lighting Dec. 5

The Manteca Senior Advisory Committee and Manteca Parks and Recreation will be hosting the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, Dec, 5, starting at 6:30 p.m. The festivities begin in front of the City Council Chambers with the lighting of the official City holiday tree. Attendees are encouraged to bring homemade or purchased ornaments to hang on the tree after the lighting ceremony.

Everyone then is invited into the Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane, for a community sing-along and a variety of entertainment. Santa will even be there to give each child a small gift. The evening will conclude with cookies and hot chocolate. There is no charge for this family activity. For more information, call the Senior Center at 456-8650.
