LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles has unveiled a smartphone app that will let residents report potholes, pay city utility bills and look up dog parks at the tap of a virtual button.

The city on Monday rolled out MyLA311 for iPhone and Android phones. It's available in the Apple and Google app stores.

Instead of calling 311 to report problems, residents can use the app. They can even snap photos to accompany reports of potholes or graffiti.

The app also offers a City Hall news section and an option for folks to look up information such as the location of police stations, hiking trails and swimming pools.
