KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARK  (AP) — Officials say an Indiana man slipped and fell over a waterfall to his death at Kings Canyon National Park in California.

Park spokeswoman Malinee Crapsey said Friday that 47-year-old David Breuer of Mishawaka died after falling over Mist Falls.

Crapsey says Breuer had hiked four miles to the falls with his family Thursday then left the trail and walked to the top of the waterfall. There he slipped and fell down the cascade. Other visitors attempted CPR, but couldn't revive him. His body was removed by helicopter.

It was the second death in a week at the neighboring Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks.

On June 14, 60-year-old Joe Lopez of Bakersfield was backpacking with his brother at nearly 10,000 feet when he died of an apparent heart attack.
