Vice principal carried gun onto campus

BAKERSFIELD (AP) — Police say they arrested the vice principal of a Central California school suspected of bringing a gun onto the junior high campus where he works. Sgt. Joe Grubbs of the Bakersfield Police Department said Thursday that 51-year-old Kent Williams was booked into jail and placed on administrative leave. Williams cooperated with officials and police say the school day went uninterrupted.
