SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Officials say a woman is in critical condition after a large tree branch fell 50 feet and hit her on the head while she and her children were visiting a San Francisco park. The San Francisco Chronicle reports the 36-year-old woman was hit by a 100-pound branch when she was at Washington Square park with her two small children Friday afternoon. Fire Department Lt. Jonathan Baxter says paramedics rushed her to a hospital where she is in critical condition with a head injury.
