Members of the Health Occupations Students of America at Manteca Unified are preparing to host another “Trunk or Treat” Sunday.
The safe Halloween event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Manteca High staff parking lot at 450 E. Yosemite Ave.
Included, for a minimal fee, will be food – Nachos, Slurpees, popcorn, chips, cotton candy, to name a few – games, and a haunted house.
Proceeds from this second annual event will help defray the cost for students to attend the HOSA state convention in Sacramento and the National Leadership Conference scheduled for mid-June in Anaheim.
The MUSD Regional Occupation Program was able to raise about $1,000 at last year’s safe Halloween, according to advisor Cheryl Behler.
Sixty of her students coupled with 20 each from the other ROP classes – Careers with Children and the Administration of Justice – will also help out.
The MHS Career Center will serve as the haunted house.
“We’re adding to the haunted house,” said HOSA president Erica Candido.
Those in the ROP classes will look to get in the Halloween spirit by dressing in costume and distributing goodies from the trunks of their vehicle.
Children of all ages are invited.
