Three robbers that took a couple’s valuables at gunpoint Sunday at 11 p.m. in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn near Bass Pro Shops were nabbed after a chase into Calaveras County led by Sheriff and CHP officers ended with the trio crashing their vehicle into a tree.
The suspects were taken into custody by deputies and placed into the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp following a pursuit that began just inside the Calaveras County line near Highway 12 in the Wallace area – and concluded near Eighth and Mariposa in Farmington.
A Sheriff’s watch commander said the trio had fled the hotel in a ‘90s green Ford Mustang. CHP had taken over the pursuit and recovered the weapons and the valuables taken in the armed robbery.
Calaveras deputies said the car matched the description they had received from Manteca officers of the vehicle connected with the armed robbery.
