Looking for a haunted house, organized trick or treating for kids or Halloween festivities for the 21 and over crowd?

There’s plenty to do over the next four days in Manteca, Lathrop, and Weston Ranch.

Among the free events are various neighborhood haunted houses. Among them is one staged by the Arrollo family and neighbors at 409 Mylnar Ave. just off North Street near Doctors Hospital of Manteca. The free haunted house is from 6 to 10 p.m.



Downtown Safe Halloween Saturday

Manteca’s biggest Halloween event – the Downtown Safe Halloween – takes place this Saturday.

The free annual downtown Manteca event is staged by the Manteca Interact teen service group. It takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. It is designed as a safe place for children to go trick-or-treating.

Children ages 3 to 8 are encouraged to don costumes and visit participating downtown merchants for treats. The starting point is the Manteca Bedquarters parking lot at Yosemite Avenue and Main Street.



Safe Halloween at Orchard Valley

The businesses at the Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley are inviting parents to bring the kids to a free Safe Halloween trick-or-treating event Monday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the center located at the 120 Bypass and Union Road.

There will be vendors and a costume parade with prizes for all at 5 p.m.

If your little ghosts and goblins want to parade throughout the center they can meet in front of the AMC ShowPlace just before 5 p.m.

Participating businesses are AMC Showplace, Matsu Sushi, Subway, Crush, Manteca Visitors Center, Fabulous Nails, Red Robin, Van’s, JC Penney’s, and Hampton Inn & Suites.



St. Anthony’s School Safe Halloween

St. Anthony of Padua School in Manteca is hosting an event that will help provide a great way to keep children safe and off the streets on Halloween night. For the 6th year in a row, the school is hosting its Annual Safe Halloween Night on Monday, Oct. 31. The event will be held at the school gymnasium, located at 323 N. Fremont Avenue, from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Featured attractions will include a haunted house, games, prizes and food. Ticket prices are 25 cents each, $5 for 20 tickets, and $10 for 40 tickets. Proceeds will help send the fifth-grade class to Science Camp.

Weston Ranch High haunted house

WESTON RANCH — The Weston Ranch High Literature Club is raising money for their Ashland field trip with a haunted house.

It takes place on the campus tonight through Friday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m.

They have added a Trunk or Treat tonight from 4:30 to 7 p.m. for kids 12 and under. Other clubs will be doing things like face painting, candy, and we will have a bounce house.

 

Lathrop Elementary School PTC’s Fall Fiesta

LATHROP — This Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. is the Lathrop School Parent Teacher Club’s Fall Fiesta from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the large gym located on the corner of Fifth & O Streets in Lathrop. All proceeds to benefit the school. There will be a number of booths and family fun for all ages including a dunk tank, haunted house, raffles, and much more.



Bass Pro events

Free kids’ activities including fun crafts, a costume parade and “trick-or-treating” are available at Bass Pro Shops.

Kids will receive free Peanut themed coloring sheets and get a free 4x6 photo of them with the Great Pumpkin weekdays from 5 to 8 p.m. and weekends 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 31. Bass Pro wil have free trick or treating throughout the store on Friday, Oct. 28, and Monday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 7 p.m.

A costume parade takes place Friday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. with small prizes being awarded to participants.  On Saturday, Oct. 29, and Sunday, Oct. 30, kids can have fun roasting marshmallows from 1:30 to 5 p.m.



San Joaquin 4-H plans Manteca haunted house

The San Joaquin County 4-H Domestic Exchange project is holding a Haunted House fund-raiser in Manteca over Halloween weekend. 

It takes place Friday and Saturday (Oct. 28-29) from 6 to 11 p.m. as well as Sunday and Monday (Oct. 30-31) from 6 to 10 p.m. at 13616 S. Highway 99 East Frontage between Lathrop Road and French Camp Road.

The cost is $5 per person or $10 per family (same household).



Alien crash site in Lathrop

LATHROP — The Lathrop Senior Center will be hosting an alien-themed Halloween Walkthrough on Sunday, Oct. 30. and Monday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Lathrop Senior Center (15707 Fifth Street, Lathrop). This safe and fun event will offer families a more unique experience than typical haunted houses. Kids and parents alike will enjoy watching what happens when aliens and the military come together.

After the thrill is over refreshments will be for sale along with trick-or-treat candy for the kids. Refreshments will include alien pizza, alien slime and hot dogs. Harvest Festival Saturday in Lathrop

LATHROP — The Lathrop Parks & Recreation Department is holding its annual Harvest Festival & Giant Halloween Party at the Lathrop Community Center Scott Brooks Gymnasium on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 2 to 5 p.m. This safe and fun event will offer 12 carnival game booths, a costume contest, and other traditional autumn activities. The Costume Contest and Parade has four categories: Toddler, Youth, and Adult and Family Group Costume contests. Adults must accompany children ages 5 and under. Admission is only $4 per person and only $15 per family. The Youth Advisory Commission will be hosting a free pumpkin walk for the kids. Night spots for adults

The Pub, 1305 N. Main St. is having a Halloween party Friday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Chuck’s Place plans a Halloween bash at the 188 Oak St. sports bar Saturday from 8 p.m. until closing.

Live music is part of the Halloween fun Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Old Manteca Winery, 251 Oak St.
