Weston School work is on target for reopening

Weston Elementary School is scheduled to be re-open on time for the 2015-16 school year.

Michael Bean and Scott Gaudineer of the PMI team will be on hand to provide an update at tonight’s Ripon Unified school board meeting in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

They’ll cover the new classroom wings, gymnasium and modernization of the old Multi-Purpose Building into administration building. Construction is proceeding on schedule.

Thus far, the building slabs for the classrooms and gymnasium coupled with the infrastructure have been completed.

The old Multi-Purpose Building has been completely gutted.

In addition, applications for state aid have been submitted to the Office of Public School Construction and verified as completed. However, the PMI team will point out that any available funds won’t be available until the state gets sufficient money.

 In other agenda items:

uStudent representative Eleanor Waters and Ripona Elementary School Principal Dante Alvarez will both provide a presentation to the board.

uVince and Stephanie Hobbs of the Ripon Community Athletic Foundation will give an update on Stouffer Field revitalization.

uTrustee Mike Fisher and Scott Ambrose are scheduled to talk about the Ripon High Automotive Technology Program.

uHuman Resource manager Michelle Ryan will announce retirements and a resignation in her February Employment Report.

uLisa Cheney, director of Student Services, will discuss the School Site Safety Plans.
