Albino Anthony Macedo obit

Albino was born in Rio Vista to Azorean immigrant parents Antonio and Elvira (Pereira) Macedo.  His oldest sister Celestine died when he was a baby and his father died six months later.

Elvia later remarried to Walter Rowell and the family, including sisters Celia, Bernice and Antoinette moved to a small dairy ranch in Manteca when Bino was six years old.  Youngest sister Myra was born there.  He attended Calla grammer school and graduated from Manteca High School.  He meet his wife Carmen Mattos when she moved across the street in his Freshman year.

He farmed almonds for 30 years on the old dairy site.  He also worked for Lucky Milk and Ice Cream but his favorite job was the 29 years he spent with San Joaquin Lumber as a Millman.  He loved to fish and went just about every weekend including deep sea, Delta, beach, river or lake fishing.  He enjoyed family trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Catalina, Tahoe, Yosemite, British Columbia and the Grand Canyon.  When his kids were young he took the family on a memorable trip to see the Missions, ending in Disneyland.

He is predeceased by his father Antonio, mother Elvira, step-father Walter, sisters Celestine Macedo, Bernice Sarina, Antoinette Boling and Myra Lucas and grandson David D. Pombo.

He leaves behind his wife Carmen of 67 years, along with four children, Dawn Pombo (David) of Tracy, Stephen Macedo of Hawaii, Tracey Macedo Thiedo (Mark) of San Diego and Timothy Macedo (Tracy) of Manteca as well as his sister Celia Long, grandchildren; Dylan Pombo, Dara Pombo, Dante Pombo Drew Pombo, Kane Thiede, Connor Thiede, Aidan-Beck Thiede, Jennelle Macedo and Joshua Macedo, great-grandchildren; Zoey Pombo, Adeline and David Dean Pombo, Matthew Adams, Gavin, Cole, Eliana and Cassia Pombo.

Per his wishes there will be no service but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
