Brother Al lived by the motto "God, Family, Country." He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1967 to 1969, and was honorably discharged. He worked in the paper mill industry for over 40 years as a yard supervisor with Container Corporation of America. Brother Al was also a devoted pastor and faithful servant of God. In 1998, he began his ministry out of Liberty Baptist Church, and in 2008, he founded His Way Recovery Baptist Mission. He had a deep passion for people and for sharing God's love with His children. In 2001, he opened his first recovery home, and today, His Way Recovery has grown to include 11 homes across Manteca. At the age of 77, he continued his mission
of service by helping begin the His Way Refuge Center, a homeless shelter in Manteca.
