Ana Luz Correia Rosa
September 22, 1928-December 13, 2025
Ana Luz Correia Rosa obit

Ana Rosa, a beloved mother, Avó, Avózinha, and devout spiritual warrior for Jesus, passed away peacefully at home in Tracy on December 13, 2025, surrounded by family.

Ana was the last survivor of the Francisco Correia family. She was the youngest of six children who all immigrated to California from the village of Pedro Miguel on the Azores Island of Faial in the late 1950’s to early 1960’s. She was a persevering pioneer who came to America with no financial resources, yet trusted God’s plan and her and her husband’s desire to work hard and build something from nothing.

The Correia clan was known for their masterful story telling abilities. Ana’s home was a gathering place for friends and family to come together in joy, wine, Portuguese sweet bread and Portuguese cheese to hear stories about the old country. She loved playing cards and doing puzzles with her grandchildren. All who spent time with her felt her loving, positive, humble and sincere spirit. Her hope for the future was contagious and most who met her wanted to spend more time with her.

Crochet and cake decorating were two of Ana’s exceptional talents. She loved sharing her crochet baby blankets and many babies have been wrapped in her love. She also decorated many special occasion ice cream cakes in her 20 year career at Baskin Robbins in Livermore.

Ana was a loving mother to her four children, Maria Adelia Rosa, David Rosa (Michelle), Henry Rosa (Laurie), and Jackie Rashé (Dave). She was a devoted Avó to nine grandchildren, Mitchell, Bradie (Daniel), Karla, Alyssa (Gideon), Jake, Samuel, Gabriella, Jeffrey (Mikayla), and Jessica (Darryl), all who were the greatest light and joy of her life. The icing on the cake was the arrival of her three great-grandchildren, Lucas, James and Billie. Ana also had many bonus grandchildren who lovingly called her Avó. Ana will be missed by all who loved her. She loved her family unconditionally. She was happiest when they were all gathered together.

Ana will be remembered for her positive attitude, her selfless and generous spirit and her faithful devotion to Jesus Christ and His Blessed mother, Virgin Mary. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Ana was a devout parishioner of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Manteca where she attended the 10:45 mass until just after she turned 97 years old this last September. Her faith in God’s plan for her life was the driving force that led her courageously through life’s adventures.

Ana was proceeded in death by her husband of 51 years, Henrique and their first child, daughter, Maria Adelia.

Rosary service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on January 7th at Fry Memorial in Tracy. Ana’s Funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Manteca at 11:00 a.m. on January 8th with internment following at the Tracy Mausoleum. Upon internment, a reception will be held at the Tracy Portuguese Hall.
