Beatrice Georjean Azevedo went home on January 16, 2021. Beatrice’s journey started on August 13, 1931 in Ripon, California, where she stayed a life-long resident. She was born Beatrice Georjean Ferriera to parents Frank Dutra and Maria Adelaide Ferreira.
   Beatrice touched so many lives as a sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was known affectionately by her grandchildren as “Meme”. Besides her dedication to her family, she shared her time with the Blue Diamond Almond Company in Salida where she worked for 27 years. She was a devoted member of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church. She was a part of the Red Hat Society, and also a Ripon Police Department Volunteer VIP for 15 years.
   Beatrice enjoyed playing cards, visiting the beach, crocheting, camping, gardening, reading a good book, and Sunday drives. She was kind and welcoming to everyone she encountered and her heart connected with others. She will be remembered by her smile, laughter, and the joy she shared with everyone!
   Beatrice is preceded in passing by her beloved husband of 63 years, Manuel Machado Azevedo, her son, Rodney Khan, and her siblings, Paul Ferreira, Anthony Ferreira, Joe Ferreira, Mary Azevedo, Evelyn Pratt, and Rosemarie White.
   Beatrice is survived by her children, Anthony Khan of New Mexico, Manual Azevedo III and wife Sherry of Ripon, Ricky Azevedo and wife Lori of Modesto, and Sandra Azevedo Holt and husband Mac of Waterford, grandchildren Manual Khan of new Mexico, Michael Khan of New Mexico, Korina Khan of Washington, Lillian Kahn of Washington, Promise Khan of Washington, Desiree Kiilau of Hawaii, Chanda Melgar of Hawaii, Broc Azevedo of Stockton, Josh Azevedo of Ripon, Blake Azevedo of South Dakota, Colby Azevedo of Minnesota, and Dane Azevedo of South Dakota; 16 great grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild.
   Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Azevedo family. A vigil for Beatrice will be held on March 11, 2021 at 5 p.m. at the Deegan Ripon Chapel. Mass will be held the following morning, Friday March 12, 2021 at
10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, with burial to take place thereafter. Donations in Beatrice’s honor can be made to the Ripon Police VIPs Department.
