Carol Asivido, 67, entered into rest on June 17, 2011 in Manteca, California. She was born on June 8, 1944 in Stockton, California to the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Sadie Abatangle. Carol joins her parents in heaven as well as her brother Edward Abatangle Jr.
Mrs. Asivido is survived by her husband of 47 years Frank Asivido. Her daughters are Gina Menasco and husband Ken of Manteca and Nicole Nichelson and husband Don of Ripon. She was blessed by five grandchildren; Zachary Menasco, Jake Menasco, Koryn Menasco, Wyatt Nichelson, and Blake Nichelson. In addition Carol has one surviving brother Gary Abatangle of Manteca and one nephew, Gary Abatangle Jr. as well as many extended family members who loved her dearly.
Carol was a lifetime resident of Manteca. As an adolescent she attended Yosemite School and Lincoln School going on to Manteca High School graduating in 1962. After high school Carol married her sweetheart Frank and together they raised two daughters. When her daughters were young Carol worked as a teacher’s aide at Nile Garden Elementary School. She attended both St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Crossroads Grace Community Church. Carol had a gift of design; she coordinated many weddings and decorated many homes around the central valley. She also worked for Richard at Manteca Floral for many years designing many beautiful pieces for weddings and special events. She enjoyed watching HGTV getting new ideas in decorating and designing both the home and the garden. She enjoyed cooking as she always tried new recipes on family and friends. She also loved teaching others to cook special entrees and desserts. She loved trying out new restaurants as she always managed to pick out the very best dish on the menu. Carol never missed a shopping trip; she was always on the lookout for the latest trend in fashion or the newest decoration for the home. Carol’s number one interest in life was her grandchildren; she loved going to all of their sporting events and special activities. Carol always supported her grandchildren in everything they did as she always encouraged them to follow their dreams. Carol’s heart was always giving to others as she was generous to anyone who crossed her paths. Carol will be remembered as a social butterfly that had a zest for life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
