Carolyn Lea Richardson passed away at home on March 16, 2024 with family at her side. Carolyn was born October 7, 1944 in San Francisco, CA to Barry and Lavetta Lakings. She was the oldest of three children.

   Carolyn grew up in South Dakota, graduating from Edgemont High School. She went to business school in Rapid City, SD where she met her husband, Larry Richardson. They were married on November 27, 1962. She continued her education by completing two Associate degrees from Delta College after becoming a grandmother.

   Carolyn enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was part of the Red Hat society, Sunrise Kiwanis, volunteered at the Manteca Senior Center, was a board member for the Golden Valley Federal Credit Union, a girl scout leader, and enjoyed her bowling league.

   Carolyn is survived by her brother Duane Lakings, three children Randy Richardson, Vicki Simmons, and Doni Richardson, grandsons; Anthony Torres, Lukas Bradshaw, and Stefan Torres, great-grandchildren,

many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

   Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister JoAnn, grandson Jason Richardson, and granddaughter Kayla Torres.

   A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 at the Great Wolf Lodge, 2500 Daniels St. in Manteca. In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who wish to honor Carolyn make a donation to Sunrise Kiwanis at PO Box 752, Manteca, CA 95336.
