David M. McClimans, 76, entered into rest on June 22, 2016 in Manteca, CA. He was born on June 14, 1940 in Ohio to the late Mr. and Mrs. Kay and Clara McClimans. David is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Nan Clare and one daughter Mary Margaret McClimans.    Mr. McClimans is survived by his wife of 50 years Victoria, children; Christi Keathley (Stan) and Brian McClimans. He was blessed by one grandson; Ryan Keathley. In addition, David is survived by five siblings; James McClimans, Marilyn Dicks, Edith Daughtery, Karen Stroud and Sara Hannold.
   David was a Vietnam Veteran proudly serving his county through the United States Navy retiring after 28 years. While in the military David traveled the world sailing on the USS Canberra where he was the Hospital Corpsman. At retirement, David was rated Chief Hospitalman in 1981. After active military service, David then went to work  for the California Youth Authority as a Senior MTA retiring after 25 years of service. He enjoyed the simple things in life; traveling with his wife, reading, drawing, gardening, fishing and was a talented wood carver. He was passionate about animals and made it his mission to rescue and adopt abandon animals. David had a soft heart for his faithful cat “Bonito” who was always at his side.  David’s gentle spirit was always caring; more commonly putting others needs before his own. David had the “heart of a lion” and the “patience of Job” with a perfect balance of a great sense of humor. He will be remembered as a devoted family man who loved unconditionally. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
   P.L.Fry & Son is honored to be serving the McClimans family. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., P.L. Fry & Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA.
