Dave passed away peacefully after a happy life where he was surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Los Angeles, CA to parents Harry W. Murphy and Marie B. Murphy (Munchratch). Dave married the love of his life, Jackie D. Murphy (Hanna) in 1967 and they were still happily married until he passed.

   Dave joined the Navy in 1967. He went overseas on the USS Acme Minesweeper. He received an Honorable Discharge in December 1968.  In 1970 he attended Cal State and earned a degree in Business Admin. In 1975 he began to work for the Internal Revenue Service. He and his family moved to Pleasanton, CA in 1979 where he commuted to San Francisco for the next 27 years. He stayed with the IRS until he retired in 2007.  After retirement, they moved to Sutter Creek, CA and lived in their dream home.  Dave lived his life for his family. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to make the ones closest to him laugh. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Dave's other passions were travel and art. Dave visited all the U.S. National state parks and all 50 states.

   Dave is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jackie Murphy; son, Jason (Alecia) Murphy of Belton, SC; daughter, Erin (Ryan) Richey of Tracy, CA, grandchildren Kaydon, Kyah and Liam and his beloved dog Brodie.

   A visitation will be held on Friday, February 3rd, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., located at Tracy Memorial Chapel,  5 W. Highland Ave, Tracy, CA 95376. 

   The funeral service will on Saturday, February 4th, at 10:00 a.m., located at Tracy Memorial Chapel. A reception will take place immediately after the funeral service. The graveside service will my on Monday, February 6th, at 2:00 p.m., located at Tracy Public Cemetery District: Valpico Memorial Park , 12815 W. Valpico Road, Tracy, CA 95376.
