Derrel “Wayne” Nolen passed away November  3, 2016 in Crescent City.
He was born in Oklahoma on June 28, 1931. He moved to California as a young man and settled in Lathrop.
   Wayne is preceded in death by his wife Betty Nolen, after 44 years of marriage, second spouse Terry Nolen, sons Terry and Derrel Nolen, parents Terril and Opal, his siblings, Jim and Bea, and  grandson Danny Nolen.
   He is survived by his sons, David Nolen (Lea), Tom Nolen (Azucena),step daughter Jessi Rodman, 10 grand children, and 19 great grandchildren. In addition, Wayne is survived by two sisters Judy and Lou.
   As a young man he served in the Navy and fought in the Korean Conflict.
Then worked at Best Fertilizer and Libby Owens in Lathrop, then moved to Crescent City, with his wife Betty, where they were self-employed and ran their own welding shop. Wayne enjoyed, hunting, fishing, camping, and especially going to the beach with his grandkids to fly kites and search for agates to polish.
   Services will be private.
