Donald E. Moretti
May 10, 1928-July 22, 2025
Donald E Moretti obit

Donald E. Moretti, a longtime resident of Manteca, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on May 10, 1928, in Petaluma, California, Donald made Manteca his home for the past 75 years, where he lived a full and hardworking life rooted in family, farming, and a deep connection to the land.

Donald was a dedicated farmer for nearly 75 years. His journey in agriculture began with a horse ranch, eventually expanding to a dairy and produce farm he fondly called "The River Place." In later years, he leased his land to the Mizuno family, which allowed him to stay actively involved in the farming world he loved so dearly. Donald had an unshakable work ethic and an enduring passion for the outdoors especially fishing and hunting.  He was a man of quiet strength and quick wit. Known for his sense of humor and dry, clever remarks, Donald was truly one of a kind.

Donald is preceded in death by his brothers, James and Bobby Moretti. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Lemm; nieces and nephews Mark Lemm, Michele O'Neill, Karen Draper, Noreen Moretti Brockman, and Dana Moretti; and great-nephews Jimmy and Jeremy and great niece Emma.

He is also preceded in death by his beloved companion, Jackie Hillman and is survived by Jackie's children Jeff Hillman and Callie Davies-Gooch, whom he helped raise.

Donald's legacy is one of loyalty, grit, and love; a life well-lived and deeply appreciated by those who knew and loved him.
