Dorothy Arden Moody, born on August 25, 1931, passed away on September 14, 2024. A resident of Manteca for 60 years.

   Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Opel Thomas, brother, Allen Thomas, and her son-in-law, Allan Sloan. She is survived by her devoted husband, Billy Moody, and their two daughters, Lisa Sloan and Carolyn Duncan (Michael). Dorothy also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren; Kimberly Sanchez (Matt), Tracie Damron (Robert), Brian Philipsen, Hope Thomas (Chance), and Lisa Duncan, Trevor Duncan as well as great-grandchildren Brandon Sloan, Austin Macias, Andrew Sanchez, Madison Sanchez, Kaiden Bastian, Jaxson Thomas. Keegan Thomas, Avery Chambers, Vasche Chambers, and Lily Brown.

   Dorothy dedicated over 25 years of her career to Knapp Ford, where she worked in the parts department as a clerk. A 65-year member of The Way Church, formerly known as the First Baptist Church she was actively involved with the members and guests. Throughout her life, she participated in numerous bowling leagues, and was an avid reader.

   Dorothy had a passion for travel, often visiting Las Vegas, the Chicken Ranch, and going on many cruises with relatives and church members. She was a past member of the Red-Hat Society and enjoyed being involved in car clubs with her husband. A huge Oakland A's fan, she loved celebrating birthdays with her grandchildren and supported them in all their sports and activities.  Known for her wonderful, outgoing personality, Dorothy made friends easily and was always dressed to impress and never missing a hair appointment. Her vibrant spirit and lively presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

   The family would like to extend a special thank you to Regina Gouveia, Dorothy's caretaker for the past three years. Regina's care and kindness provided our family was the support we needed during this time, Rigina will always be remembered as an angel sent from above.

   P.L. Fry and Son is honored to be serving the Moody family. A celebration of life will be held October 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, Ca. Burial will be at Park View Cemetery. Reception will follow at the Way Church, 715 E. North St. Manteca, Ca.

   For those attending Dorothy's service we invite all of her family and friends to wear blue in honor of her love of everything blue.
