Dorothy May Hiatt, 85 entered in to rest Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Manteca. She was born on Nov. 2, 1924 in Atlanta Kansas to Mr. George and Mrs. Vinnie Cowan. She joins her husband in heaven as well as her parents and siblings.

Dorothy leaves behind her loving children; Richard Hiatt and wife Carla of Manteca and Gary Hiatt of Manteca She was bless with 3 grandchildren; Natalie Rosas and husband Jeff of Manteca, Scott Hiatt of Manteca, Brock Hiatt and wife Andrea of Manteca.

She leaves her adored great grandchildren Abigail Rosas, Kyle Hiatt, Katelyn Rosas, Andrew Rosas and Bode Hiatt all of Manteca.

Dorothy also known as “Dot” to her family and friends was a loving and caring person always looking out for everyone. She grew up in Modesto after her marriage Dorothy and her husband made a home for their children in Manteca. Dorothy enjoyed traveling in her RV throughout the United States even going as far as Florida. She especially loved going shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. Dot was involved in all of her grandchildren’s activities primarily in school. She was known as the classroom grandma as she would help and nurture all of the children in the classroom.  In her younger years Dot worked on aircrafts for WWII as well as   fixing radios used in the war. Dorothy enjoyed watching baseball always cheering on her favorite team the Atlanta Braves. Dorothy loved all of her pets she considered all of her dogs her friends.  Dot will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grand-mother and a genuine friend to all who knew her. She will be missed dearly.

Arrangements for Mrs. Hiatt are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 209 N. Union Road, Manteca, Ca.
