Dorothy passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, in Manteca, California. She was 91 years young.  She was born in South Dakota on October 16, 1933 to the late Edward and Bertha Gilkey.  In heaven she will rejoin her husband Lyle, Sister Joyce, Brothers Orval, Roy and Frank and nephews Tom, Richard and Pat and Son–in–Law Charles Richardson. Dorothy leaves behind her Children, Jean Richardson, Carrie (Ray) Hicks, and Robert McCleerey.  She was blessed with four grandchildren, Jennifer Mastro, Eric Richardson, Amanda and Brad Hicks and 7 great–grandchildren.  In 1966, the family moved to Manteca for a new beginning.  Through the years she did daycare, a Girl Scout leader, worked at the tomato sheds, Tri Valley Cannery, and then she went into foodservice for MUSD.  She retired from MUSD and went traveling.  She loved baking, sewing and spending time with her family the most.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

A memorial service was held April 28 at Park View Cemetery.
