Douglas J. Horton, 73, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009. Doug retired from Manteca High School as a math teacher. He was born on June 14, 1936. He enjoyed playing bridge at Oak Park Senior Center. Doug loved being a dedicated teacher and also coaching athletics. He received a Certificate of Recognition The John R. Williams Award.
He is survived by his wife, Joanna Horton; children, Joe Horton, Amy Crossland, John McCall, Betsey Salerno and Deanne Sullivan; brother, Joe (Florida); sister, Judy (Indiana); 9 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews in Florida and Indiana. He was preceded in death by son Tony Horton, brother Keith and parents.
Services will be private.
