Edwin Gunsch, 86, entered into rest on October 8, 2016 in Stockton. He was born in Burt, North Dakota, to the late Matheis and Lydia Gunsch on April 25, 1930.
   Edwin leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Carmen Gunsch of Manteca; his children, Jerry Gunsch of Manteca, Catherine Gunsch Clements of Manteca and Edwin Gunsch Jr. and wife Corine of Manteca. He was blessed with seven grand- children, Melissa Medeiros, Sarah LaRue and husband Chris, Jerry Gunsch Jr., Tisha Gray and husband Justin, Jennifer Gunsch, Edwin Kyle Gunsch and Alyssa Gunsch. He has seven great grand- children, Billie Medeiros, Jake Blakeney-LaRue, Charliez Blakeney-LaRue, Blake Medeiros, Sophia Gray, Noah Gray and Reagan Medeiros. In addition he has two surviving sisters, Lydia Masbrucker and Margaret Butler.
   Edwin was a Manteca resident. He owned and operated, along with his family, Gunsch Electric Inc. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. Edwin raised his family to be hard working, as they all had a position in the family business. He enjoyed the local casinos and singing along to his favorite Elvis songs. His grandchildren were his everything, he was always looking forward to spending time with them and telling them “Love You-Love You.” He will be remembered as a loving husband, an amazing father and special a grandfather.
   P.L. Fry is honored to serve the Gunsch family. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at P.L. Fry and Son. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 17871 S. Carrolton Road, Escalon, CA.
