Elena “Helen” Jacques, 85, entered into rest on April 27, 2011 in Manteca, California.

She was born the youngest of 16 children on August 29, 1925 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Victor and Juanita Jacques. Helen joins her parents in heaven as well as her siblings and her husband Carlos Rosas Carbajal.

Helen is survived by her only son Gary Trigo of Manteca. She was blessed by two grandsons Matthew and Damon Trigo.

Helen was a resident of San Francisco for over 40 years. Just five years ago Helen moved to Manteca to be closer to her son. During WWII Helen worked for the United States government as a welder. After the war she then went on to work for the United States Postal Service as a mail sorter. She retired after 20 years of service.

She loved traveling especially to tropical destinations. Some of her favorite places to go were Mexico, Jamaica, and Hawaii. She loved ethnic dancing and enjoyed every type of music under the sun. She loved socializing at special events as her smile would light up the room. Helen had a gentle spirit about her that was calming to others; her happiness never went unnoticed as she was always a positive person with a zest for life. She will be missed.

Helen’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. A memorial will be held on Saturday May 14, 2011 at noon at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. An online guest book is available at www.plfryandson.com (search obituaries / Helen Jacques)
