Manteca resident of 45 years, Florence Vierra,108, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2013 at Bethany Home in Ripon. Mrs. Vierra was a native of San Jose, California. She moved to Tracy with her family when she was just 10 years old living there 49 years before moving to Manteca around 1965. She continued to live there until health reasons made her move to Bethany Home in Ripon. She spent most of her life taking great care of her family and was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Manteca.
   She is survived by children  Doris Kooyman of Lodi, Beatrice Luis and husband Jack of Manteca, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Vierra (married 39 yrs, passed awayin 1962), children, Gilbert Vierra, Silvia Rocha, Georgeann Vierra,  3 brothers and 3 sisters. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all.     
   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy, Thursday, November 7, 2013, 11:00 AM, followed by burial at Tracy Public Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Rd., Tracy. Visitation will be at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., Tracy, Thursday, 9:00 to 9:30 A.M., followed by a vigil service at 9:30 A.M.
