Gary Reid, 53, passed away on Sunday, May 26 2019 at his home in Greeley Hill, CA.
Gary was born in Stockton, CA to mother Carolyn Reid and father James Reid on September 6, 1965. He was raised in Manteca and graduated Manteca High School in 1983. He lived in Groveland and Moccasin, before moving to Greeley Hill in 2016.
From a young age, Gary enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and just being out in nature. He moved to the mountains in his 20s and found a life and work that he loved. He worked at Hetch Hetchy Water & Power in Moccasin, CA for many years, during which time he was certified for wilderness rescue, and worked on many of the transmission and water systems for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.
Gary wed Corinne Amerine in 2014, and they enjoyed a quiet life in Greeley Hill with their there dogs, Hana, Gypsy and Lily.
Gary is survived by his wife, Corinne Reid of Greeley Hill, his mother Carolyn Reid, sister Kathy Fortuny, niece Nikki Nelson and nephew Kris Nelson of Manteca, stepchildren Caitlin Ibarra and Matthew Zimmerman of Oakdale.
A memorial service will be held on June 15, 2019 at 1p.m. at VFW Hall, 5019 Main St., Coulterville, CA.
