George Fernando Sotello, 57, entered into rest on August 29, 2009 in San Francisco. He was born on August 21, 1952 in Gilroy. He was a resident of Stockton for over 20 years.

Mr. Sotello is survived by his beloved fiancé Tara Hernandez of Stockton. His children are George M. Sotello of Indonesia, Sonya Rebuldela of Stockton, Sabrina Herrera of Manteca, Daniel Sotello of Texas, Ernie Salgado of Stockton, and Angelina Salgado of Stockton. He was blessed by 13 grandchildren; Maikah, Justice, Ben, Destiny, Ricky, Izaiah, Aiyana, Zandri, Savina, Janessa, Gracie, Zeya, and Jade. He has 4 surviving siblings; Stan Sotello of Gilroy, Pat Quintana of Gilroy, Carol Tompkins of Santa Clara, and Rita Mazon of Merced.

George was in construction for over 40 years. He was a member of Local 3 union where he was a paver. Before moving to Stockton George grew up in Gilroy, attending Gilroy High School. He enjoyed singing, playing his guitar, and fishing. He was an avid football fan, always following his favorite team “The Oakland Raiders.” George will be remembered as a charming, social man who was very loving to his family and friends.

Mr. Sotello’d services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, A celebration of life service will begin at 4:00 PM following the visitation also held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home.
