Henrietta Veldstra
September 15, 1929- October 30, 2014
Veldstra 001 BW

Henrietta Veldstra on October 30, 2014 went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with a new body free from Alzheimer’s. She is survived by her husband George after 63 years of a beautiful marriage, daughter Cheryl and son Brad, two grandsons, one great grandson, and a brother Leonard.
The joy of her life was being with family and friends, taking care of and playing with her grandsons, and donating her time to many causes including the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Cancer Society, Modesto Pregnancy Center, Grant Hospital in Chicago, IL, Crossroads Prison Ministry, playing piano for Stockton Gospel Mission, Church Nursery, singing in the Messiah and church choir. Henrietta initiated the local Calvinetts (gems) girls club serving as president and head counselor for many years. She was in awe of God’s creation, backpacking in the high Sierras for 25 years, studying and identifying hundreds of wild flowers. She enjoyed the symphony in San Francisco and Stockton, traveling the world with George, skiing in winter with Cher and family and boating with Brad and Susan in the summer. Henrietta was also an avid golfer, having two holes in one, loved working crossword puzzles, working with the computer and bowling.  A graveside service will be held at Ripon Cemetery, Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 10AM followed by a memorial service at First Christian Reformed Church at 11am.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ripon Christian School, and Ripon Bethany Home.
