James Arthur Garcia, age 66, known affectionately as Jim, passed away on February 6, 2026 in Manteca, California, surrounded by his loving family. He had a short courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 11, 1959, in Modesto, California, Jim grew into a beacon of kindness, humor and warmth, cherished by all who knew him.
Jim dedicated 34 years of his career to Save Mart Supermarket, where he was a respected Produce Manager. Many lifelong friendships and memories developed over the years.
A 1977 Graduate of Manteca High School, Jim was involved in Football and Track. A memorable appearance in Variety shows as the Band, "DJ's over Manteca". He enjoyed High School and was voted "Mr. Mischievous" his Senior year.
A true music enthusiast, Jim's younger years were marked by his involvement in bands and his profound love of the Beatles. His extensive collection of music memorabilia was a testament to this passion. Concerts were a favorite pastime. Seeing one of his favorites,
Freddie Mercury "QUEEN" several times. Best of all, being able to take his boys to see one of the Beatles, Paul McCartney, and Billy Idol on more than one occasion. Jim also enjoyed the thrill of buying and selling on e, a hobby that enabled him to take his family on many memorable vacations, creating lasting memories. Hawaii being a favoritedestination, he loved the beach.
Jim was a devoted family man, survived by his High School Sweetheart, wife of 45 years, Cynthia, and sons, Jacob (Angelia) and Adam. He also leaves behind his siblings, Cynthia (Michael) Smedley, Dennis (Pam) Garcia, Gary (Sherrie) Garcia, Brian (Kathy) Garcia, step-brother George (Janet) Azevedo, Kathy Riley, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Julian, his parents Arthur and Barbara Garcia, step-mother Donna, brother Matthew, step-brother Clifford Corder, and his grandparents, Mamie and Frank Garcia Sr., and grandmother Mary (Lema) Alvernaz. Also his devoted dog and companion, Baxter.
A graveside service will be held on March 16, 2026, at 11am, St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Escalon. Celebration of Life to follow at VFW Hall in Ripon.

Jim Garcia's life was marked by his unwavering kindness, his humorous and loving nature, and his deep commitment to family. He will be dearly missed and forever be remembered as "A Good Person"
