James Detmers, passed away on December 17, 2023, in Roseville, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. Born on March 23, 1962, in Stockton, California to the late Richard and Bernice Detmers. James grew up in Manteca, where he attended Nile Garden and graduated from Manteca High School in 1980.

   James is survived by his devoted wife, Donna, his children, Nicole Detmers, Matthew Detmers, and Sean Detmers, as well as his stepchildren, Joshua Williams and Paige Williams. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Gabriel and Levi, and his siblings, Rich Detmers (Lynn) and Deanne Raskin.

   James’s values and strong work ethic reflected the beliefs of the Republican party, and he took pride in being a dedicated Republican. James was a distinguished professional, He dedicated over 30 years to the field of electrical engineering. His illustrious career began at PG&E and culminated in his retirement as a vice president of Cal- ISO, where he also served on the board of directors at the Folsom Powerhouse. James's passion for understanding everything electric was evident throughout his career, and he leaves behind a lasting impact on the industry.

   In his personal life, James was an avid traveler who found joy in wine tasting, cruises, and road trips. His love for exploration was matched only by his affection for his dogs, Lily and Poppy. James also found pleasure in playing the stock market and was a dedicated fan of the San Francisco Giants and the 49ers.

A kind-hearted man with a generous spirit, James will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, strength, and dedication will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
