Janice Faye DeFaria Perry, 72, of Manteca, died peacefully on Sunday, November 8,  at Doctors Hospital of Manteca leaving behind family and friends who loved her dearly.

Janice, born in Turlock, attended Tracy schools and graduated from Tracy High School in 1955 surrounded by her “Lucky 13”. She remained close to many of her friends from that period.

In midlife, Janet made the spirited decision to return to college and receive her Master’s Degree in Special Education. Janice taught in Manteca area schools for 18 years and was a positive influence on many students. Janice was a voracious reader, adventurous traveler, and avid collector of Santa Claus figures.

Janice is survived by her children, Karen Curry and husband, Dan of Petaluma, Allen Perry and wife, Sheila of Stockton, Stuart Perry and wife Katie, of Elk Grove and Eric Perry of  Stockton. She is also survived by five grandsons, Michael, Dean, Dylan, Stephen and Noah. Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Perry.

A memorial service is scheduled for November 22 at 11 a.m. at Park View Funeral Home at 3661 E. French Camp Road in Manteca.

Arrangements are being handled by Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca. Funeral service will be at Park View Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22.
