John Truman Crawford, 88, of Manteca, CA, passed away on July 3, 2010 after a long illness.  

He was born January 2, 1922 in Olean, MO, one of seven children born to John and Birdie Lee Crawford.  He later married Mary Jean Crawford on January 23, 1943.  They later moved to California.  After settling in Stockton, John went to work for Guntert Steel where he retired after 42 years in 1993.

John was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jean Crawford and his daughter Judy Ann Mills.  He is survived by his daughter Linda Hill and husband Jerry, his son Ronald Crawford and wife Vicki, his grandsons Mike Hill and wife Rita, Jeff Mills and wife Kendra, Chris Mills and wife Charlotte, and Nicholas Crawford.  Granddaughters Amber Pakele and husband Jonathon, Aimee DeAnda and husband Marcus, as well as nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

John was a hardworking, kind and loving man who always put others first.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends whether it was watching sporting events, fishing or family gatherings.  He will be missed deeply by his loving family and all that knew him.

Graveside services will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, California, on July 8, 2010 at 10 a.m.
