Retired Honorable Judge James E. Cadle, a beloved longtime resident of Manteca, passed away peacefully on his 89th birthday, July 28, 2025. He was born in Hillary, Illinois, on July 28, 1936, and made Manteca his home for the past 60 years.

   James was preceded in death by his devoted wife and love of his life, Rosemary Cadle; his parents, William and Bertha Cadle; and his sister, Betty Leon.

   He is survived by his loving daughters; Stacey Dadasovich (Dave), Susan Kelley (Brad), and Nancy Cadle; and his cherished grandchildren Brett, Jimmy, Katie, Drew, Tayler, Nolan, Kruse, Emily, and Joey. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren Jesus, Mateo, Tomas, Theo, Wesley, and Eli.

   At a young age, James proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged, carrying with him a lifelong sense of discipline, patriotism, and pride in his country.

   He began his professional journey as a police officer and later transitioned into the judicial system, where he served as a respected judge in Manteca, Tracy, Ripon, and Escalon. He concluded his career with distinction at the Superior Court in Stockton, dedicating over 20 years to upholding justice in his community.  Beyond his career, James had a deep love for reading, yardwork, and cheering on his favorite baseball team, the Dodgers. He was a family man through and through, known for his generous, kind, patient, and lovingly demeanor. He shared a special bond with his family and treasured traveling across the U.S. with Rosemary. Seattle held a special place in their hearts, and together they found joy in jazz music, especially the smooth sounds of John Pizzarelli. James was a gifted artist at heart, as he expressed his creativity through painting, woodworking and beyond.

   James will be remembered for his unconditional love, quiet strength, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

   P.L. Fry and Son is honored to be serving the Cadle family. Visitation will be on Monday, August 11, 2025 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. held at P.L. Fry and Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, Ca. A service will be on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 910 E. North St. Manteca, Ca. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife in a private ceremony at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Escalon, Ca.
