Lawrence Teunisen K

The Teunissen family is deeply saddened that their beloved Lawrence “Larry” James Teunissen unexpectedly passed away peacefully on April 12, 2017, at the age of 62, in Manteca from unknown causes.
Larry was born on August 27, 1954, in Stockton, California to Henry and Laverne Atwood Tueunissen. Larry spent his whole life in Manteca and attended Manteca High School. He worked at DSS Engineering in Stockton for 18 years. Larry really enjoyed being outdoors with family and friends. He had fond memories of fishing with his good friend Becky, abalone diving with his son James, hiking with James and David to the backside of Half Dome, entreating his grandchildren in a pool in the front yard, or hiking with Adeline in Yosemite. He even enjoyed driving golf balls from his driveway across the street to the empty field or taking solo kayaking trips down remote parts of the Stanislaus River. Larry firmly believed in drought friendly landscaping. He enjoyed tending his front yard and gave special attention to his backyard garden. Later in life he took up painting and enjoyed doing portraits and various landscapes. He believed in staying physically fit. So much so that he even went to the gym several times a day. Larry was the type of person who would stop and talk to anyone on the street. He was known to stop and pick up strangers along the road and give them a ride. He cared deeply for his friends and spent many years trying to figure out what happened to one of his good friends who had passed away many years before.
Larry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Adeline Teunissen, of Manteca. He had four children and four grandchildren including daughter Jennifer Dooley and his son-in-law Gary Dooley of Manteca and their three sons, Noah, Tristan and Cameron Dooley; daughter Durena Tuenissen and her daughter Anayah Jackson, both of Manteca; his son James Teunissen of Manteca and his daughter Amber Dutra Kirby of Oregon. His sister, Anna Baker, of Manteca and good friend, Becky Miller, of Manteca will miss Larry a lot.
Larry is proceeded in heaven by his parents, Henry and Laverne Teunissen. Larry has many family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
Larry will be cremated, as he wanted, and laid to rest at Park View Cemetery in French Camp in a private ceremony. There will be a celebration of life on May 13, 2017 at Mavis Stouffer Park in Ripon from 1:00-4:00 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact Adeline Teunissen at (209) 629-7904.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the sympathy, comforting words, prayers and all expressions of kindness and concern.
