Lee Cargile, 62, was born on October 7, 1947 in Stockton and went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 7, 2010 in Reno, Nevada, after suffering a stroke. He enjoyed fishing and especially guided trips on rivers in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.

After he graduated from Humboldt State College in 1970, he returned to Manteca where he worked for the railroad during the day and worked at night for the Stockton Civic Theatre.

In 1977 at age 29, he enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserve and trained as a medic. In 1980 a neighbor introduced him to respiratory care. He then became a therapist, working at Dameron Hospital in Stockton, and also at Doctors Hospital in Modesto. In 1985 he was offered a position to open a respiratory department at a hospital in Madras, Oregon. In 1987 he moved to Chester, CA as a department manager of cardio pulmonary services. In 2005 he went to work in Quincy, CA as a staff member. He continued to reside in Chester.

He was initially assigned to Travis AFB but in 2006 he transferred to Beale AFB, where he was assigned to the 940th Air Refueling Wing flying in KC 135’s where he served in Scotland, Italy, Turkey, Japan and other various places abroad and in the USA.

Lee was preceded in death by his father, Quincy E. Cargile. He is survived by his mother Gerry Cargile, and his brother Tim Cargile, owner of Coffee-N-Go of Manteca. He leaves behind one daughter Brandie Cargile, and one granddaughter, Lacy Liggitt, and one grandson, Austin Liggitt. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lee requested to be buried in Chester, CA, the place he loved. The burial took place on Thursday, June 17.

There will be a memorial service for Lee on Friday, June 25, at 1 p.m. at Calvary Community Church, with Pastor Jim Day officiating, located at 815 West Lathrop Road, Manteca. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
