Santa Rosa - Marie Ash Evans formerly of Manteca died on November 5th, 2023 at Brookdale senior living facility in Santa Rosa, Ca. 

   Marie is survived by her loving husband John, Santa Rosa, daughter Noreen Evans of Santa Rosa, son Thomas Evans and wife Susan of Boise, Idaho,

daughter Kirsten Ingram and husband Brad of Redwood Valley, Ca, son Daniel Evans and wife Tiffany of Tracy, Ca. Marie is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

   Marie was born Florence Marie Esther Ash on November 1st, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Her parents Russell and Florence Ash of Laytonville, Ca. and sister Sandra Janney preceded Marie in death. Marie is also survived by

many nieces and nephews and brother-n-law Herbert Janney of Etna Ca. 

   Marie loved to read and was an avid writer, writing many letters to the editor of the Manteca Bulletin, Often her friends would say to Marie” that was a great article you wrote. I agree with you.” Marie and her husband John lived in the Del Webb community of Manteca from 2008-2021.  They were members of United Lutheran Church during that period where Marie was very active in church activities and sang

in the choir. She loved to travel going to European countries many times, Australia and with her husband took many cruises including the sea of Norway and the Coral Sea. Marie loved Hawaii spending many vacations there and living on Oahu after retirement. Marie was a graduate of Hayward state university and worked as a real estate agent in Livermore, California for many years. in her last few years Marie suffered from Alzheimers/dementia. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

   A memorial service will be held on January 6th, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Santa Rosa.
