Melvin Silveira, 82, passed away Thursday morning on March 11, at his home in Manteca, surrounded by his loving family.
Melvin will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and loved ones whether it was barbecuing at home or out camping in the RV.
He was a long-time resident and worker of Tracy, working at a Dairy and Silveira Farms, after farming he moved to Manteca in 1984 and worked at Warrens turf where he eventually retired at the age of 70.
Melvin is survived by his caring wife of 63 years, Rena Silveira, three children, Joanna Huffman (bob), Anthony Silveira (Janice), and Judy Silveira, six grandchildren, Jennifer and Bobby Chavez, Faith Cooley and Jared Silveira, Elizabeth Frazier and Allison Silveira, and 11 great-grandchildren, and a sister Dolores Costa.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Melvin and Dolly Silveira Sr.
