Mona Orange passed away on February 20, 2026, in Manteca, California, at the age of 64.

Mona was born on June 18, 1961, in Fort Ord, California, to her loving parents, Eugene and Jane Woodring.

She spent over 15 years as a cherished resident of San Leandro, where she built lasting friendships and touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity.

Mona had an infectious love for life that could be felt by everyone around her. If you were fortunate enough to experience her genuine magic, you knew she had a way of opening both her heart and her home to those in need. With her nurturing spirit and boundless hospitality, Mona welcomed many into her life, often “adopting” countless children along the way and treating them as her own.  She found joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments. Whether she was dancing in the kitchen while preparing delicious meals or lovingly crafting beautiful carnation leis and candy leis for special milestones, Mona poured love into everything she did. Her laughter, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed.

Mona is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years, Darwin Orange; her beloved children, Darwin Orange (Kenji), Kiyoshi Orange, Kanisha Orange, Kiyoko Orange, and Koji Orange; and her treasured grandchildren, Kayden Williams, Malia Williams, Ace Faure, Randy Williams, Koji II Orange, Roman Williams, and Kiyoshi Jr. Orange.

She is also survived by her siblings, Douglas Woodring, Vevecca Oda, and Iris Winston.

A Celebration of Mona’s life will be held on Friday, March 27, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home in Modesto, California.

Mona’s legacy of love, generosity, and compassion will live on in all who knew her.
