Rick Adams, 67, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2021 in Dillon, Montana doing what he loved, hunting with his buddy Jim. He was born on January 12, 1954 in Fairfield, California.
Rick is survived by his father, Carrol (Shannon) Adams. Rick leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Julie and their sons, Greg (Leah) Adams of Escalon and Mike (Julia) Adams of Lathrop. Rick’s absolute pride and joy were his six grandchildren, Greggie, Tenley, Saylor, Clayton and Jaxon. Rick had a close knit extended family that included his siblings and in-laws, Christine (Raymond) Mendes, Kevin (Maureen) Adams, Danny (Judi) Adams, Corey (Toni) Navarro, Joseph Widmer, Don (Kim) Widmer, Kathy (the late Allen) Baroni, Shirlee (Sam) Gallego and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Olga, and his precious granddaughter, Aspen.
Rick retired in 2007 as a Sergeant, from the Manteca Police Department after 25 years of service. He wore many hats throughout his career with MPD. Rick was one of the eight original members of the MPD SWAT program and served as Team Commander. Through the years he served as a Patrol Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Watch Commander, M-COPS, Supervisor of CRACNET and worked undercover in the narcotics task force for over 15 years. Rick was an extremely devoted husband, father and “Bop” to his family. He never missed any of his grandchildren’s games or events and enjoyed spending time with them on the farm tending to their animals. Rick loved spending his days working on the farm in Escalon (keeping it immaculate), hunting, fishing and boating. Rick had a green thumb and loved being complimented on his beautiful front yard. He was a jack of all trades and had a fix for everything. Rick was so friendly and always greeted people with a warm smile under his trademark mustache.  He was a funny man, full of love and a tremendous story teller. Rick will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
